Freshen Up Your Decor For Spring
Spring is right around the corner and it is a great time to freshen up your indoor space. It’s easy to give your space a whole new feel with just a few well placed items.
Add Some Color: Shake of the old winter blues with a few pops of color. Throw pillows, blankets and a complimentary art piece can easily pull a room together.
Incorporate Florals: Floral prints have gained in popularity in the last few years. You can easily add a floral element in the form of wallpaper, bed sheets or art. Don’t overdue it however, as too much will only make the space feel heavy and cluttered.
Add Clear Acrylic Accents: Clear acrylic furniture pieces, like chairs and coffee tables, look almost invisible, which significantly opens up and lightens up your space.
Use Pastels: Pastel have made a comeback as they add a calming and light tone to the space. Thinks soft and sophisticated. Try lilac, mint green, coral and of course the popular blush pink. Pastels look great paired with gold.
Add Open Shelving: Open shelving is a great choice for kitchens, bathrooms and nooks. Make it stand out by displaying colorful glassware on the shelves or add a piece of artwork. Keep it simple, too many items will only make it feel cluttered.
Pantone Colors of the Year: The Pantone Colors of the Year for 2021 are Ultimate Gray and Illuminating — a grounding gray and a bright, cheerful yellow. Incorporate them by painting an accent wall or adding pieces of décor.
Add Contrast In Your Cabinets: You don’t need an entire renovation to transform your kitchen. Consider painting your bottom cabinets a bold, color and the top cabinets white!
Add Statement Mirrors: Mirrors reflect light and give the illusion of a larger space. Adding one to a dining room or living area can easily help make the space feel larger. Home decor stores are great place to start your search for a good mirror but don’t forget to check out hardware stores, hobby stores and craigslist or Facebook marketplace.
RePot plants: Updating a few of your pots can add a fresh look. If you don't have any indoor plants consider adding a few. Fresh flowers are also a great choice.
